About Dylan

Dylan Gunnels (he/him) is a South Carolina–based activist, community organizer, writer, and social entrepreneur. A graduate of Charleston Southern University with a BA in Theology, Dylan has spent his professional career in the ministry and nonprofit world, walking alongside people as they explore questions of identity, faith, and belonging. He is deeply committed to building communities rooted in equity, inclusion, and love, and centers his life on the freedom found in agape. Dylan believes Jesus is inviting us into the ongoing work of healing, justice, and making the world whole again.

Dylan is the Founder & Director at The Agape Table, an organization that heals, educates, and activates to create a South Carolina where every LGBTQ+ person belongs. He also serves as the Missions Director at Emmaus Church, President of South Carolina Pride, co-owns Terracotta Nursery Columbia, and consults with nonprofit leaders across the state. A lifelong South Carolinian, Dylan organizes with a deep love for this place and a commitment to creating safer, more loving communities for the next generation.

Outside of his work, Dylan is a proud dog dad to Bentley, Samson, and Delilah, and a cat dad to Skene, Mila, and Louie (yes, there are six). He cherishes life with his loving partner, Jack, and is grateful for a companion equally devoted to community, adventure, and the long work of justice.
